Turmeric Products For Flawless Dark Skin?

I was recently contacted by Amanda from Ladybug Soap Company. She sells amazing soaps on Amazon and requested that I do a review. As someone who supports small business and women in business, I was more than happy to oblige. I chose to review her Papaya and Turmeric soap and mask because of what I've read about Turmeric aiding in clearing and brightening skin. She also went ahead and sent me her Organic Lemongrass Goat Milk soap (white) and Persimmon & Ginseng soap (dark brown).

I loved each soap she sent me primarily because they all lathered well, without drying my skin or leaving residue. These soaps are well made. I did notice that the Papaya and Turmeric soap brightened my skin and gave me a nice summer glow, but I can't say definitively that that is is a good agent to clear your skin. She didn't claim that it was, so I can't fault her for that. The major noticeable difference for me was that my skin was soft, supple and glowed. There may be some truth to the lightening claims after all. lol.

The mask was amazing. It takes a while to get used to because it is fast drying, but it does not dry your skin. There will be a slight tingle and I assume that it's due to the citric acid, but it wears off in a few minutes. Overall, I love the products. I think they are great and I'm so excited because Amanda gave me a coupon code for anyone who is interested in trying them out.
Used LULUSOAP when you purchase from her store to get $3.00 off your purchase. This coupon code is valid until the end of the year. Also, there may be a giveaway in the future, so stay tuned. Here is the link to her web store.

Vacation Hair Wig Feat. Uniwigs Lace Closure.

I really got myself in a pickle this time. I decided that it would be "wise" to make a wig before going on vacation so that way, I'd only have to sew down the perimeter. I did it freehand. There was no mannequin head, no model, nothing. I just grabbed my XL mesh weaving net and started sewing. I had the idea that if I was careful, I'd have decent results. I was wrong. I made a mess and totally botched the closure. I kinda fixed it now, but the pic shows what it looked like. Needless to say, I'll NEVER make a wig the night before going on vacation and I'll be remaking this wig or sending it to someone who knows what they are doing. Oh yeah, I also tried Iman cosmetics for the first time. They are awesome until the sun hits...then you get melting cake face.

Closure specs: Uniwigs Brazilian Remy deep wave 4x4 lace closure in 16 inches and the color 2. I lifted some of the color so that it would match my hair. Check out my video on the closure: Vacation Hair.

2014 World Cup Guide For Newbies...#10 Is For The Ladies.

It's that time again. I'm a die hard soccer fan so I made a list for newbies who might just be getting into the game.

1. Every other sport is inferior.

2. This tournament’s ball is called the Brazuca.

3. You need to be able to identify the group of death (Group G). There will always be drama and heartache here.

4. The refs want everyone to feel their weight...AT ALL TIMES!

5. Germany and Ghana are all grown up now. We’re watching to see if they are more refined.

6. Global rankings mean nothing.

7. The player you love the most probably dives in the most spectacular fashion.

8. South American teams tend to have a “win at any price” mentality. This guy is not the goalkeeper.

9. Keep your heart medication close.

10. Ladies only: google the 2010 Vanity Fair World Cup Edition….you’re welcome. ;-)

Okay, I may have been a little over the top, but that comes with the territory. Happy watching. xoxoxo

Cocoon Curls In 4c Natural Hair

Oh, the cocoonery. lol. I did cocoon curls in my hair using my Dark and Lovely Au Naturale Coil Moisturizing Souffle and Sheen Sealing Nectar. We actually used to do this at boarding school to curl our braids, but now I'm actually doing it...in my hair...for the first time. All I did was make large two strand twists, then began to wrap around like a hanging bantu knot. There really is nothing to it but to do it hunnnay. lol.

Sooo, do you like?  I have a video showing you how I did it so check out the video below and let me know if you try it out.

Dress Up Your High Bun

As many of you know, I LIVE for high buns.

They practically make my life complete. Unfortunately, they tend to have a basic, mundane, yawn-worthy look...so I decided to dress mine up a little. To make my style formal, I simply Added a few twists and turns. I added some texture by isolating some strands and twisting them to make somewhat of an incomplete pinwheel effect. This look definitely adds a touch of formal elegance that is suitable for weddings, tea parties, and the like. The benefits are that it is relatively easy to recreate and only takes a few minutes to achieve. Click the video link below for a detailed tutorial and be sure to share your results if you choose to do this style.

DIY: Cheap and Quick Floral Hair Accessories

The weather is warming up and we are finally out of the deep freeze or whatever you want to call it. This winter was beyond rough. We're shedding layers and flaunting more skin. I really love the warm weather because I can wear accessories for days and still look cute. I have a little DIY for you on how to make floral accessories for your hair so that way you can control the price you pay and have more options in choosing the design that you desire. This 3 step process will have you wondering why you bought any floral accessory from a store.

Step 1: You're going to start with an artificial flower that you snapped off a stem.

Step 2: Grab a curved needle, puncture it all the way through, and swirl the needle around to widen the opening.

Step 3: Place a bobby pin through the holes and place the flower in your hair.

That's it. You have now made your own flower accessory in under 5 minutes. Be sure to watch this quick tutorial so that you can have a better Idea of what to do. Now go out there and enjoy the sun with your new piece.
